Building a clock is an extremely satisfying hobby and well within the capabilities of anyone with cabinet making or woodworking skills, however, selecting the workings can be rather confusing, so to assist, we have carefully compiled a range of Complete Movement Kits to suit all types of longcase clock projects - each kit includes of a mechanical movement, a dial and a pendulum and all of the screws and fixings needed to complete the installation. You may modify the kits by selecting an alternative dial and pendulum from options listed below! All kits include the Polished brass weight shells, cable pulleys and the gongs, a drawing showing the primary movement, dial and pendulum accommodation dimensions and a template for positioning the mounting holes required to fit these items into your clock. The kit will be delivered free to UK addresses! We also provide telephone assistance when you are installing the mechanicals and commissioning your clock - our expertise at clock making will ensure that your new clock performs perfectly!

For Grandfather Clocks we recommend a 116cm Movement & Pendulum and either a 280x395mm Moon Arch dial or a 280mm square Dial.

For Grandmother Clocks we recommend a 100cm Movement & Pendulum and either a 250x350mm Moon Arch dial or a 250mm square Dial.

Wall clocks are normally fitted with a 65cm Movement & Pendulum and a Round Dial.

Kit 1 comprises of a Kieninger PS 65cm Chiming cable movement (see our wall clocks for full specifications), a Kieninger 200mm round White Enamel Dial with a polished Brass Rim, a set of hands and a traditional Timber Pendulum. The Oakside 'Custom Made' Solid Brass Moon Phase dial, 280 x 395mm. This is our finest dial and it faithfully reproduces the traditional style of 1750's - it will be available in July and it will be fitted to our Devon & York Grandfather Clocks. The built up dial features a Silver Plated Chapter Ring with painted Roman & Arabic numerals, a Silver plated center disk with etched decorations, a set of Hands and will be completed with four cast & polished brass corner spandrels.
