Each of the Clock Makers Sets illustrated on this page is assembled around a Kieninger mechanical movement. The set includes a dial, the gongs, a winding key and the movement fixings - where appropriate we also include a pendulum, the polished brass weight 'shells & fillings' and the cable pulleys. You can modify the contents of each of the sets on its 'Options & Prices' page! We also include a drawing showing the primary movement, dial and pendulum accommodation dimensions.

This movement set is suitable for a mantle or small wall clocks - it requires a minimum measurement of 102mm from the inside face of the dial glass to the inside of the rear panel.

The NS movements have four turned pillars protruding from the rear plate - these are used to attach the movement to the rear panel of the clock - the method by which all high quality regulator movements are mounted as it reduces the risk of the movement oscillating in sympathy with the pendulum.
The superior specification of this movement allows it to runs for eight days using a very small single brass 115gram in weight and only 35mm diameter and 110mm long.
Technical data. Brass main plates 81mm high and 70mm wide. plates 1.7mm thick. Total depth from hand shaft to rear panel is only 64mm. There are 8 rubies and 6 bronze bushings reducing the friction on the arbors, a Graham Dead-Beat lever escapement provides the pulses to drive the pendulum and a friction device provides automatic beat adjustment, There is a secondary drive called maintaining power - this keeps the pendulum and second hand advancing correctly during the rewinding period. The NS also has seconds indication.
On the NS 54cm version, the measurement from the hand-shaft to the centre of the 80mm diameter bob is 315mm. For the NS 54cm version, the measurement is 425mm. The distance from the hand-shaft to the bottom of the cabinet needs to be a minimum of 420mm to achieve eight-day running. The distance from the rear panel to the front face of the weight is TBD

This movement set requires a minimum measurement of 108mm from the front of the hand-shaft to the inside of the rear panel, the pendulum with a 140mm diameter bob swings approximately 190mm. To achieve eight-day running the weights drop 730mm measured from the hand-shaft to the bottom of the case. The distance from the hand-shaft to the bottom of the cabinet needs to be a minimum of 420mm to achieve eight-day running. The distance from the rear panel to the front face of the weights is approximately 135mm.
The Dial, Hands and Movement are supplied assembled and ready for mounting on your support board - you need to drill three holes in the rear board using the template provided and the chimes can be easily mounted using the special bolts included in the set.

Our current stock of RWS 39 - 116cm movements have been specially assembled for Oakside by Kieninger. The highly polished movement ´front and rear plates´ were specially prepared under contract by Kieninger for a company called Sewills, who ceased trading a number of years ago. In addition to the standard AJK (Kieninger) logo and movement identification numbers the rear plate also has ´Sewills Estd 1800 ad - New Millenium - Limited Edition´ and 65cm, etched on it. During assembly for Oakside, Kieninger fitted all new internal parts to provide one second beating to ulse the 116cm Royal pendulum.
